XFDM - Digital Download Manager for XenForo 2.3 1.0.2
- Yazar ExcelDepo
- Oluşturulma tarihi
XFDM becomes a complete store: buyers get their own purchases page and can renew at a discount, products can put buyers into user groups, sellers see who bought what, and a whole DragonByte eCommerce store can be moved over with its licences. Plus a new download countdown and a long list of fixes.
Highlights
- Your purchases page for every member, with download and renew buttons
- Renewals at a discount: one more term on the same purchase, never a second purchase
- Buyer user groups that follow the update period, refunds and renewals
- Buyers tab with revenue per currency, visible to the seller without any group permission
- Import from DragonByte eCommerce: products, releases, licences, renewals, ratings and history
- Download countdown as a progress bar
- Upgrades no longer touch your permissions; moderator alerts and watch e-mails render correctly
Download countdown
![]()
- The countdown is now a proper progress bar: while waiting, the download button widens, shows Preparing your download…, fills from left to right and keeps the seconds ring at its right end. On narrow screens the bar takes the full width. It returns to a normal button the moment the file is ready.
Your purchases
![]()
![]()
- New page Your purchases (visitor menu, account sidebar and the Files navigation): every product a member bought, with the purchase date, the amount paid, the end of the update period (lifetime, a date, or expired), the purchase key, a download button for the newest version the purchase covers, and a renew button. The link in the account menu can be switched off in the options.
- The same list can be opened for another member from the menu on the member card and profile. Administrators see every purchase. A seller sees the purchases of their own products (and of the products whose team they are on), whatever their user group allows. Anyone else needs the new permission View all purchases of any member (moderator permissions), which is not granted to any group on install or upgrade.
Buyers tab
![]()
- Paid products have a new Buyers tab: buyer, date, price, state (valid / refunded), update expiry and the version bought, with totals and revenue per currency in the footer. The owner of the product and its team always see it; so do administrators and holders of View all purchases of any member.
- The table uses XenForo's own data list layout: a header row, headings aligned with their values, and on phones it scrolls instead of overflowing. Page numbers of the Buyers and Your purchases lists sit below the card, as in the rest of XenForo.
Renewals at a discount
![]()
![]()
- A buyer of a product with a limited update period no longer buys the product a second time: Renew extends the update period of the purchase they already have by one more term, counted from its current end, or from today if it has already ended. No second purchase is opened.
- Two new options set the renewal discount, one for renewing before the update period ends and one for renewing after it has ended. A product can have its own fixed renewal price instead (Renewal price in the product form). With both discounts at 0 and no fixed price a renewal costs the full product price.
- Renewals go through the same payment profiles, rules and licence acceptance as a purchase. A refunded or reversed renewal payment takes the added time back; a reinstated one gives it again. Every renewal is logged with the old and the new end of updates, and counts towards the revenue shown in the Buyers tab.
- Optional reminder e-mail a set number of days before the update period ends, one per period. Off by default (Send a renewal reminder this many days before updates end = 0).
Buyer user groups
![]()
- A product can add its buyers to secondary user groups (Buyer user groups in the product form). A buyer is in the groups while the purchase is valid and its update period has not ended, and for good with lifetime updates; when the period ends or the payment is refunded the groups are taken away again, and a renewal gives them back. A group a member has for another reason is never removed.
- Only administrators with the Manage user upgrades admin permission see and change this setting. Apply to existing buyers as well brings current buyers in line in the background.
Import from DragonByte eCommerce
- New command
php cmd.php xfdm:import-dbtechcopies DragonByte eCommerce products, releases and licences into XFDM on the same installation. It is a dry run unless--writeis given, can be limited to single products (--product), reports its plan per product (--report), shows what has been imported (--status) and can remove everything it created (--rollback --write). The DragonByte data is only read.- Products become paid products with their price and update period, free products become normal files. Screenshots in the description move to the gallery, videos to video entries, terms to rule and licence policies (a policy whose text already exists on the site is reused instead of duplicated), compatibility notes and the product specification to the FAQ; requirements become a custom field. Headings are normalised for search engines (the description starts at h2, no level is skipped) and the product's own tag line is used.
- Licences become purchases with the same buyer, date, key and end of updates, so buyers find them under Your purchases. An expired licence arrives as an expired purchase: the buyer keeps every version released before it ended and can renew. Renewal history and fixed renewal prices come along.
- Description images stored on the forum itself move to the gallery;
--image-hostadds other host names that count as the forum (for example its old domain). Images on other sites stay in the description.- Releases keep their original dates and share the stored files with DragonByte, so nothing is duplicated on disk. Ratings, watchers, download history, tags, reactions, bookmarks and icons are copied; orders, coupons and income statistics, which XFDM has no place for, are kept in archive tables.
- Stopping and running it again never creates a duplicate.
- For the switch-over,
--prepare-removal(before DragonByte is uninstalled) archives its member columns and--after-removaladds permanent redirects from the old store addresses to the matching XFDM pages (product, licence list, category) and removes the files DragonByte leaves behind.- Uninstalling XFDM removes the importer's archive and map tables and the redirects from the old store addresses, so nothing of the migration is left behind.
- Limits: the importer is a command line tool, there is no admin page for it. Products, releases, files, licences, ratings and history are copied in full on any site; sorting the text of a product description into FAQ and policies recognises Turkish wording only, so on other sites that part is best effort; no text is lost either way.
Fixes
- Upgrading no longer changes your permissions. Every upgrade re-applied a set of default permissions left over from before the first release (inline moderation, feature, warn, tagging, voting, team management), which could switch back on what an administrator had turned off, and queued rebuild jobs that were not needed. Defaults are now applied on a new installation only.
- Moderator notices never reached members: when a file was deleted, edited, moved or reassigned, or a review or update was removed or edited by staff, the alert was stored under a name that had no template, so it showed up empty and logged a template error (Template public:alert_user_download_reassign_to is unknown). All eight notices now render, in alerts and as push notifications; alerts already stored under the old name are repaired on upgrade.
- Watched-file and watched-category emails, the "for file in category" line on reviews and the update notices showed an empty
{download}placeholder instead of the file title. The templates passed the title under the wrong name.- Turkish: thirteen translations still used the placeholder names of the Resource Manager they were ported from, so the file title or link stayed empty. The most visible case was the discussion thread XFDM opens for a new file or update, whose first post contained a broken link. Existing Turkish installations are repaired on upgrade.
- A database upgrade step that is run a second time no longer sets an existing column or table aside under a
__conflictname.- Uninstalling also removes XFDM's queued background jobs and stored trending results, so nothing keeps looking for content types that no longer exist.
- Deleting a file for good did not remove its reviews, and could remove reviews of the wrong files instead: the clean-up compared review ids with version ids.
- Import from Resource Manager: category watchers who had chosen new resources arrived without that choice. They now watch for new files.
- Installations that go back to a pre-release build could not store notify me about new files on a watched category; the column is repaired on upgrade. Installations that started with 1.0.0 are not affected.
- The address of a custom field tab that no longer exists redirected to the file page temporarily, so search engines could keep it as a second address for the same page. It is now a permanent redirect.
- File page: the sidebar group titles (ratings, team, more files from the author, share) skipped a heading level (h4 straight after h2). They are h3 now; the class name is unchanged, so styles keep working.
- The statistics widget showed the number of files twice and never the number of downloads; it now shows both.
- Turkish: the number of times a file was downloaded was labelled Dosyalar (files) on the file page, in file lists, on the author page and in the sort options. It reads İndirme now; the section name Dosyalar is unchanged.
- The author and date line sat too close to the file title in the default style.
- Note for OzzModz users: delete the original resource only after converting with 1.0.1 or newer — OzzModz removes its purchase records together with the resource, and a resource converted with 1.0.0 did not carry them over. Lost purchases can still be rebuilt from XenForo's own payment log.
- Turkish: the image and video fields of the add/edit file form (gallery, images, videos, paste from clipboard) were shipped without a translation and appeared in English.
- The star rows of the ratings card and the star filter of the reviews used XenForo's own x star phrases, which many language packs leave untranslated or translate differently ("5 star" on a Turkish forum). XFDM now has its own phrases for them.
- Turkish: shorter tab labels SSS (FAQ), Telif (Copyright) and Satış (Buyers).
Upgrade
Admin panel > Add-ons > Upgrade with the new zip. The database changes run on their own; nothing is switched on for you:
- Renewal discounts start at 0 (a renewal costs the full price until you set them in Options > Sales & Renewals).
- The renewal reminder e-mail is off (0 days).
- View all purchases of any member is not given to any group; administrators and sellers see what they need without it.
- Buyer user groups are empty on every product.
- After uploading the files, restart PHP or clear OPcache if your host caches PHP code.
The demo at Downloads already runs 1.0.2.
1.0.1 - Paid Resource Manager resources move over with their buyers
Import from Resource Manager
- Paid resources become paid products. Resource Manager has no product type; add-ons that sell resources (OzzModz Purchasable Resource) give them their own type and a price. XFDM now turns those into products, keeping price, currency and the update period (for example "1 year"). Without a price they become normal files.
- Buyers keep their access. Every completed purchase is carried over as an XFDM purchase with the same buyer, date, price and update expiry. Lifetime purchases stay lifetime; refunded or revoked purchases arrive as refunded. Unfinished payments are not copied.
- Download history comes along. Who downloaded a resource and when is listed in the Downloads tab and the audit log of the imported file.
- The preview in the admin panel and the Convert to file dialog tell you how many purchases will be carried over before anything is copied.
- The type filter "Uploaded file" in the bulk import also matches resources sold through other add-ons.
- Not carried over: licence keys and licence URLs of the OzzModz add-on, and unfinished purchases.
Fixes
- A resource of a third-party type was imported with that unknown type and ended up neither free nor paid.
- Imported files showed a download count in the Downloads tab but an empty list.
- Turkish phrase for "{count} downloads" was missing.
Upgrade
Admin panel > Add-ons > Upgrade with the new zip. No settings change, no rebuild needed. If you converted a paid resource with 1.0.0, edit that file once and set its type to "Paid product".
